Pile of Priests released their long awaited self-titled full length sophomore album on May 22nd, 2020. The band originated in 2009 as death/thrash band and has since evolved into a progressive death metal band.

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release!

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.

Bought this for Pierce Williams. Everything else is good too, but Pierce is one of the best drummers in death metal. The band is quite cerebral but reasonably accessible. A good mix of technicality, brutality, and atmosphere. Cool vocals.
